Operational Guidelines


PURPOSE: The purpose of the FONE Governmental Relations Committee is to oversee proposed legislative bills at the state level. The committee is also responsible for outreach to legislators about FONE’s position, through written or face to face meetings either in their regional or capitol offices. Communication to the FONE membership about proposed legislative bills are provided through the FONE newsletter Governmental Relations Committee column.  

OPERATIONS: The Chairperson for the Governmental Relations Committee is appointed by the FONE Board of Directors.


Committee responsibilities include:
  1. The committee proactively reviews proposed bills and informs the FONE Board of Directors about stated bills
  2. Represents FONE in legislative venues.

MEETING FREQUENCY:    Quarterly or monthly as needed.
MEMBERSHIP: FONE members can sign up to be a member of this committee.
